My trip to Utah was a treasure that I will never forget! I didn’t know what to expect at first, but my classmates all spoke highly of the program so I signed up! I was able to have a worry free 2 weeks thanks to the friendly ZIP Staff and Host Families! I had many great experiences with my host family like home cooking with my host mother, and daily conversation after dinner. I think that all the time spent with my host family really improved my English. On the last day, I was able to return the favor by cooking Japanese food for my host family. They liked it so much they asked for seconds! This Utah trip is packed! Lakes, rivers, mountains, animals, and sports: there is just so much to do. Just looking at pictures of Utah’s red rocks and the surrounding scenery doesn’t do it justice; I still can’t believe what I saw. I was able to take great pictures of the Grand Canyon that I will have for life. We had a lot of girls in our group, and we were always being naughty by asking for more time for ice cream or shopping. Our guide would just smile and make sure that we had enough time to facilitate our requests. During our two weeks I had some hard times, fun times, climbed some really steep stuff, and made memories that I will never forget with my friends. Throughout this trip, I made memories and bonds that money could never buy. When it was time to say goodbye, my group and I couldn’t stop crying. Utah’s scenery, my group, my guide Andrew, and my host family: I loved all of it!! I feel like I found my second hometown. If I could have one wish, it would be to have the same group and the same guide doing this tour all over again!
このユタトリップは私にとって絶対忘れられない一生の宝物です。最初は先輩にすすめられよくわからないまま応募したトリップでしたが、日本語の分かる優しいスタッフとホストファミリーのおかげで安心して2週間過ごす事ができました。ホストファミリーとの生活ではマザーが毎日本場の家庭料理を作ってくれて、夕飯後には家族の日常会話にいれてもらいたくさん良い経験をできました。毎日夕方には帰れるのでホストファミリーとの時間もたくさんあり英語力も上達できたとおもいます。最終日には日本食を作ってあげたら美味しいって食べてくれておかわりまでしてくれて嬉しかったです。このユタトリップはとにかくすべてが詰まってます！湖、山、川、動物、スポーツ、観光、などと楽しい事だらけです。写真だけでは伝わらないユタのあの1面レッドロックに囲われた景色が今でも忘れられません。グランドキャニオンでは一生物の良い写真を沢山撮れました。私達は女子が多かった事もあって旅中に沢山ワガママを言ってしまったけど私達のガイドは笑顔で毎日時間の許す限りワガママに付き合ってくれました！2週間みんなで辛い時も楽しい時も険しい道のりも一緒にのり超えた思い出は忘れられないです。このトリップで私はお金買えないくらい価値のある思い出と絆を得る事ができました。帰る事にはZIPスタッフとのお別れが辛くてメンバー全員が涙でし。ユタの景色、メンバー、ガイドのアンドリュー、ホストファミリー全部が大好きです！！第2の故郷ができた気分です。叶うならばもう一度同じメンバー同じガイドでこのトリップをしたいです！

I started my trip with ZIP in July with all of my friends. I had so many great experiences in Saint George. We got to see so many great places and had a great guide who is our good friend now. I got to experience rock-climbing, river hiking, and boating for the first time. I would never have had these types of experiences if we didn’t come to Saint George with ZIP. I have so many great pictures that I will be able to treasure for a lifetime. We met so many great people and had so many great experiences: I would love to come again!
私は留学中の休みを使って友人と一緒にZIPに参加しました。ZIPでは美しいユタの自然や観光地などを直に感じる事ができた。プログラム中は今までに体験した事が無いアクティビティを幾つも体験することができ、どれももう一度体験したいと感じる素晴らしい体験ばかりでした。私達のガイドを務めてくれたアンドリューは陽気でフレンドリーな人でした。彼とは今でも連絡を取り合う中で、そういった友人関係が出来るということでもZIPは素晴らしいプログラムだと思います。機会があったらもう一度参加したいです。

As a first time host family our experience working with ZIP was nothing short of incredible. Our college-age student was enthusiastic, friendly, and had a wonderful time staying with us and participating in the ZIP program. We have grown very close with our student and keep in touch regularly, even after he returned home with his group. The entire group of students were incredibly friendly, polite, and a pleasure to be around. ZIP as an organization was wonderful to work with and they provided the students with a great variety of events and excursions. Our main purpose of acting as a host family was to provide students with an insight into American life and hopefully give the students a desire to return to Utah, or anywhere in America, in the future and we believe that we succeeded in our mission (our student, and possibly others, will be returning to join us sometime this winter). We will most certainly be acting as a host family, through ZIP, for years to come.
ZIPを通してホストファミリーになったことは、信じられないほど素晴らしい経験でした。私たちが迎えた大学生は熱心、フレンドリーで、ZIPのイベントにも積極的に参加してくれたりと、私たちにとっても素敵な時間を作ってくれました。私たちはとても親密な関係を築くことができ、彼が日本に帰国してからも連絡を取り合っています。どの生徒さんもとてもフレンドリーで礼儀正しく、一緒にいてとても楽しいです。ZIPは共に生徒さんの留学をサポートしていく上で素晴らしい環境にあり、たくさんのイベントや遠足を生徒さんに提供しています。私たちがホストファミリーになった目的は、生徒さんにアメリカの生活を知っていただく為、そしていつかまたユタかアメリカのどこかに戻ってきたいと思っていただく為でした。ホストファミリーとして受け入れた彼や他の生徒さん達も冬にまた訪れてくれるようなので、私たちのミッションは達成されたでしょう。これから先も、ZIPを通してホストファミリーとして是非生徒さんを受け入れたいと思っています。
